Atex Explosive Area Coils - OBSOLETE - REFERENCE ONLY

Danfoss solenoid valve coils intended for use in ATEX classified areas. Most Danfoss solenoid valves are available as an ATEX valve solution.
An ATEX approved solenoid valve consists of an ATEX certified coil and a certified valve.
Limitations for ATEX components compared to standard components. The limitations are described below.

Validity:
Approvals are only related to water as fluid. If other fluids are used they must be non-flammable fluids and comply with standard EN 13463-5 § 7.5.5.

Gases:
The valves are produced in materials resistant to most common gases. The user of the valves must secure that the materials used are resistant to the gases applied.

Temperature:
The valves must only be used in systems where the temperature for the pressure medium does not exceed a higher temperature than 60° C. Please see standard EN 982 § 5.3.4.4.1
Danfoss Atex approved coils
The ATEX 94/9/EC directive is one of the “new” European directives. The ATEX directive specifies the requirements for equipment intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. ATEX is derived from the French term “ATmosphères EXplosives”.
The ATEX directive replaces the previous EC directive 76/117/EC which only included electrical equipment, whereas ATEX includes both electrical and non-electrical equipment. 
Included in the ATEX Directive: -
• Mining and non-mining equipment.
• Explosive atmospheres caused by gas and dust.
• Electrical and non-electrical equipment.
• Equipment (machines, devices, built-in instruments or mobile devices).
• Security systems (equipment which can stop / limit explosions).
• Components (parts without any independent function).
• Security control and regulation devices intended for use outside explosive areas but which secure the equipment in the hazardous areas .

The differential pressure controls are suitable for use in installations located in potentially explosive atmospheres.
