Danfoss Windpower
Danfoss, the leading supplier of sensors and switches to the Wind Turbine Generator market, took part in the WINDPOWER 2009 Conference and Exhibition at Chicago’s McCormick Place Convention Centre.

This was the first time that Danfoss had exhibited at WINDPOWER they presented their pressure and temperature sensors, switches, heat exchangers and industrial valves to this rapidly developing and expanding market.
All Danfoss products go through a rigorous testing process to ensure that they meet the latest environmental, safety and quality standards. Designed to cope with rough handling and extreme conditions, Danfoss products can withstand everything from high pressure peaks and soaring temperatures, to heavy vibrations, liquid hammer and cavitations. And because they’re made to last, our products maximise uptime and reduce maintenance – which means a lower total cost of ownership.

Fuel Valves - Danfoss leads way
Danfoss solenoid valves have been used in fuel blocking applications that helps combat vehicle theft for many years. The system disables the vehicle by stopping the flow of fuel. This is ideal for older vehicles without fuel injection systems, fuel block systems help combat vehicle theft via a satellite controlled tracking device. In these vehicle disabling systems, a solenoid valve between the fuel pump and the fuel filter is a key element. If the vehicle is stolen, the driver makes a call to the system manufacturer. They then send a signal via satellite to the vehicle, which cuts the electricity to the solenoid valve, stopping the fuel supply. And it’s the Danfoss EV220B solenoid valve that does the job.
The EV220B is a high performance, water-hammer damped solenoid valve that’s available in a broad range of body and sealing materials. It’s also insensitive to dirt and comes in a very compact design. Add to this its cost-efficient performance and wide pressure range, and you get the perfect valve for vehicle fuel systems. With a fuel block system installed, trucks can’t be driven. Also, the satellite tracking system helps pinpoint the exact location of the vehicle – good news for owners, bad news for vehicle thieves. Danfoss KP and KPI pressure switches and thermostats, Versatile, long lasting and reliable
KP and KPI pressure and temperature controls are popular products that just keep getting better. With a successful 35-year track record, the KP family is based on tried and trusted technology.

KP pressure switches and thermostats control, regulate and monitor pressure and temperature in air, marine, water and heating applications. Because they play an important safety role in these applications, it’s crucial that the automatic or manual reset functions operate perfectly – so reliability and quality are paramount The quick snap mechanism ensures a Class A contact function, which complies with EMC standards. A negligible bouncing time (10-15 µs) extends the life of the switch so it can withstand more than 100,000 operations, keeping your equipment working longer. And the KP can cope with vibrations ranging from 20-1000Hz at 4g, making it ideal for heavy duty applications. The KP / KPI pressure and themperature range is part of vast switch options available in the Danfoss portfolio, which also includes solenoid valves, pressure and temperature sensors and transmitters. Danfoss Contactors For Bright Sparks!
Danfoss contactors are a widely used in the welding industry. If you take a look inside any portable transformer or inverter type welding machine then chances are you’ll find a Danfoss contactor inside. Designed to make and break high-current loads, contactors keep welding equipment running smoothly and safely. With a reputation as the best in the industry, Danfoss contactors are now the firm favourite for many welding equipment producers.
There are a variety of electrical welding technologies, but the need to cut in and out of the main welding current is common to them all – and this is where contactors come in. The Danfoss CI range of contactors provides trouble-free switching and maximum protection for electrical welding equipment. Available in a wide range of sizes from CI6 and up, the CI range is solidly constructed and reliable. And because Danfoss contactors are renowned for their ability to cope with the extreme performance demanded by top welding equipment manufacturers, they’re a popular choice.
With the CI range, you also benefit from a compact design, a screw or DIN rail mounting and a power range from 2.2 to 90 KW. Danfoss contactor CI ranges CI4, CI5, CI6, CI9, CI12, CI15, CI16, CI20, CI25, CI30 and CI61 up to CIEI420 which includes mini contactors from 2.2. to 4 kW and control relays/ contactors from 2.2 to 238 kW.

MBT 3270 Now up to 300°C
Thanks to a redesign the Danfoss temperature sensor MBT 3270 can now withstand higher temperatures, has faster reation times and more customisation options. Danfoss has recently launched an updated version of the MBT 3270 temperature sensor. The revamped model is less complex than its predecessor. It's easier to setup, has new plug options and can now cope with temperaturers up to 300°C.

The greatest challange Danfoss faced when re-developing the sensor for temperature applications like oil free air compressors and exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) systems, was finding a new filling material that can survive at 300°C, and still maintain excellent heat transfer capabilities. It also had to react fast, Tau ‹10 seconds in exhaust gas flowing a 6m/s. The final result was a sensor that could handle 300°C and beat the Tau ‹10 by 2 seconds. The new modular design means plugs, cables, process connections, protection tubes and sensor elements can be combined to suit your need.

Protect your system - Hammer your costs
Danfoss 17% better water hammer damping than industry standards - reduces pressure peaks to prolong your system lifetime and reduces maintenance costs.
Anti-water hammer solenoid valves are an easy way to control and regulate fluids and gasses. The Danfoss programme consists of direct operated, servo-operated and assisted lift versions. Solenoid valves are the right choice when you have media with limited dirt content and small to high flow volume. The Danfoss solenoid valve programme consists of two ranges: • The compact A range – offering small physical dimensions for control of flow where space is limited. • The high performance B range – Slow Closing, Anti-Water Hammer Design – a sturdy and universal broad programme for control of flow in industrial applications and within heating and sanitary systems.
Danfoss Pneumatically activated angle seat valves are designed for specialised and demanding applications. These robust valves are the right choice for media with high dirt content, high viscosity, high ambient and media temperatures and large flow volumes. They are also suitable for humid environments, explosion hazard environments and for applications with low or unknown pressure conditions.
Danfoss Thermostatic self-acting valves are a simple and reliable way to control the temperature of water-cooled equipment. They do not require control air or electricity and they are insensitive to dirt and water pressure, making them a highly robust choice.

Danfoss Pressure transmitters now with true switch capability
When Danfoss introduced the MBS1300 and 1350, a series of pressure transmitters with a dual output, instead of just one analogue output signal. The mobile hydraulic market showed a strong interest, and based on feedback from key customers, an open collector switch output with a direct connection to ground and a maximum load of 150 mA was developed and has now been introduced.
Danfoss MBS 1300, OEM Pressure transmitter with dual output. The compact OEM pressure transmitter MBS 1300 is designed for use in industrial applications, where a combination of pressure signal and pressure switch or temperature signal is requested. It offers a reliable performance even under harsh environmental conditions. Excellent vibration stability, robust construction, and a high degree of EMI protection equip the pressure transmitter to meet the most stringent industrial requirements. • Designed for use in severe industrial OEM applications • For medium and ambient temperatures up to 125 °C • Wetted parts made of stainless steel • A wide range of pressure and electrical connections • EMC protection up to 100 V/m • UL 508 recognized • CE marked
